The Gari School of Government and International Politics

Doctoral Programs

Thank you for choosing to explore the Gari School of Government and International Politics' doctoral programs. Our mission is to develop future intellectual and political leaders in their respective political fields. Our graduates have obtained faculty positions at a number of top U.S. and European Universities. Many of our graduates, however, have successfully applied their political science training to non-academic fields, pursuing distinguished careers in the government, international organizations and international media. The doctoral programs place a greater degree of focus on the fields of political theory, international relations, political economy, government management and public policy. The Georgian studies and the Russian studies programs are offered to exceptional students who want to attain expertise in the particular geopolitical fields.

Our faculty is comprised only of exceptional academics. Becoming a faculty member at the Gari School of Government and International Politics is a highly selective process. Our faculty predominantly consists of senior level American professors who are leaders in their fields of study and have made significant contributions to scholarship and science. Many of our faculty members also hold advanced post-graduate degrees from prestigious European universities, and served as senior level public officials in Europe or the U.S.

We take a global approach to education. The Gari School of Government and International Politics frequently recruits senior level academics from Europe, Africa and Asia in order to provide critical expertise in certain areas of study, such as foreign languages, international relations and political theory. The faculty boasts of several eminent European professors and Doctor Academicians, the latter being the highest academic title in Europe.

The Georgian studies and the Russian studies programs are offered to exceptional students who are fluent in those languages and have a desire to attain expertise in the particular geopolitical fields. The Gari School of Government and International Politics is the only graduate school in the United States which offers the doctoral program with the major in Georgian Studies. We have recruited international experts in different academic fields of political science from the country of Georgia as faculty, adjunct professors and lecturers.

The Gari School of Government and International Politics offers more than just the traditional online experience. It combines in-class seminars and examinations with online guidance. It provides its doctoral students with valuable extracurricular opportunities to exchange ideas with high-level public servants, participate in international academic events, and attend the ESAP ‑ the European Study Abroad Program of Georgian International University which gives our doctoral candidates unique opportunities to study, as well as teach in Europe, and receive full certifications and dual degrees from premier European academic institutions. Due to such rigorous extracurricular programs, many of our graduates successfully pursue careers in top universities to apply and promulgate their knowledge in academic research and teaching, others engage in government, international organizations or public service.
