Scholarships

The Board of Governors of Georgian International University strongly believes that economic adversity should not prevent applicants of exceptional talents and abilities to pursue academic excellence. President and Provost, as well as the faculty and administrative staff of the university, are dedicated to advancing scholarship, education and science by offering exceptional applicants opportunities to conduct innovative studies and pioneering academic researches at Georgian International University. We are committed to extending opportunities to our students and researchers by offering several merit-based and career-specific scholarships for tuition and research.

Earning a scholarship is a highly selective and competitive process. Its outcome rests entirely on the Graduate Committees independent judgment of the applicants qualifications. Georgian International University has rigid scholarship requirements:

  1. An applicant must have achieved high standing in undergraduate or graduate schools previously attended;
  2. During the mandatory interview an applicant must demonstrate strong aptitude for performing advanced scholastic research;
  3. An applicant must submit a one-page written petition explaining why he/she should be considered for the scholarship;
  4. An applicant must demonstrate passion and sincere love of the chosen discipline, and prove his/her ability to make a special contribution to a particular subject of study within this discipline.
  5. To strengthen his/her candidacy an applicant may produce supporting evidence of his/her previous academic records, scholarly excellence and professional endeavors.

Currently the following scholarships are available for outstanding graduate students and exceptional applicants of Georgian International University:

The Economic Society of America (ESA):

The Economic Society of the United States of America is an American-European think tank within the Laissez-Faire Fraternity (LFF) which conducts independent researches, provides consultancies and engages in advocacy in areas of economic growth, freedom and liberty in the world, assuring a pluralistic, open and accountable process of policy analyses, decision-making and evaluation of economic and human liberties issues on the global scale. The scholarship is available to individuals with exceptional academic ability and high moral character who share the philosophy of the Economic Society of America. The Laissez-Faire Fraternity Scholarship:

The Laissez-Faire Fraternity is an organization dedicated to freedom and prosperity which can only be achieved through economic freedom existent only in free market capitalism. Henry David Thoreau Scholarship:

Henry David Thoreau Scholarship is offered by Georgia-Ukraine Institute of Social Relations to outstanding graduate students and exceptional applicants of the Academy of Iberian Philosophy. The scholarship aims at advancing liberty, freedom of thought and erudition in the field of moral philosophy.

Janet Mathewson Scholarship:

Janet Mathewson Scholarship is offered to graduate students to further education in pedagogy and philosophy. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of various criteria reflecting the values and purposes of the donor and the founder of the award, a prominent twentieth century New England educator, philosopher, novelist and poet, Dr. Janet Mathewson (1914-2002) of Yale University.

Winford B. Johnson Scholarship:

Winford B. Johnson Scholarship is a career specific scholarship awarded to the students who are planning to pursue a doctoral study at the Solon School of Justice. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of various criteria reflecting the values and purposes of the donor and the founder of the award, a prominent twentieth century American chemical engineer, Dr. Winford B. Johnson(1912-2009) of Yale University.
