The Gari School of Government and International Politics

The primary mission of Georgian International University’s Gari School of Government and International Politics is to prepare career diplomats, public servants and political analysts, as well as scholars and academics in the broad disciplines of government studies and political science. Our curricula are balanced between theory and practice. We are proud to offer several scholarship opportunities to exceptional candidates, including the Laissez-Faire Fraternity, the Economic Society of America scholarship.

The Gari School of Government and International Politics is an outstanding graduate institution dedicated to teaching and conducting academic research in the broad discipline of political science and government studies. Our Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programs provide a greater degree of focus on the fields of international relations, political theory, political economy and public policy. We are also proud to offer unique programs with a greater degree of specialization in the field of international political science, such as the program in Georgian studies. In the learning environment that is equipped with the latest technology, students of the Gari School of Government and International Politics master these fields and learn to think strategically from world-renowned faculty and top practitioners.

The Gari School of Government and International Politics boasts of a distinguished faculty. It is presided by Chieke E. Ihejirika, Ph.D. Dr. Ihejirika is an internationally renowned African born American political theorist with a distinguished academic background from Temple University (Pennsylvania), the University of Waterloo (Canada) and the University of Leuven (Belgium). In the last fifteen years he has served as a graduate teaching fellow at Temple, and served as a political science professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Avila University in Kansas City.

The Gari School of Government and International Politics provides its M.S. and Ph.D. candidates with valuable extra-curricular opportunities to exchange ideas with high-level public servants, participate in political debates, and attend the ESAP ‑ the European Study Abroad Program of Georgian International University which gives our students unique opportunities to study, as well as teach in Europe, and receive full certifications and dual degrees from premier European academic institutions.
