The Academy of Iberian Philosophy

Thank you for showing interest in the long-forgotten subject of Philosophy. The Academy of Iberian Philosophy is the oldest school of philosophy in the world, with rich European history tracing its roots all the way to Plato’s family and the country of Iberia. Founders of this Academy, as well as the Founding Governors of Georgian International University, firmly believe that philosophy differs from trade and training, and that the sacred name of “Education” could and should be affixed only to Philosophy with its different branches, such as Theology, Exegesis, Christology, Ontology, Epistemology, Metaphysics and others.

The Academy of Iberian Philosophy is very distinct from other graduate schools of philosophy, as here we place emphases on the Iberian credo, classical Neo-Platonist academic values and Christian Orthodox theology. The applicants who place any value whatsoever on Epicurean, Stoic, Sophist, Atheist, Communist, Socialist, Rationalist, Social Contract Theorist, Existentialist, Postmodernist or Nihilist teachings, would find more affluent graduate programs of philosophy elsewhere, for historically the Academy of Iberian Philosophy always aimed at contradicting, invalidating and refuting such pseudo-philosophies and falsehoods. As Origen once fittingly noted in the 3rd century A.D.: “And the good is one, but shameful things are many; and the truth is one, but lies are many; and true righteousness is one, but the ways to counterfeit it are many…; on which some sixteen centuries later, in 1859 Henry David Thoreau echoed: “When were the good and the brave ever in a majority?”

Our mission is to develop future intellectual leaders for America and the world. At the Academy of Iberian Philosophy we believe that receiving the comprehensive Iberian, Orthodox Christian, and Neo-Platonist education in philosophy and theology will give our students a much too necessary foundation for becoming highly moral, intellectual and political or academic leaders, and truly distinguished global citizens, ‑ active citizens that is. We deeply adhere to the values of Christian Orthodoxy, its moral conventions and academic traditions. The Academy of Iberian Philosophy is the only school nationally to offer the Master of Science (M.S.) and doctoral level studies in Georgianology.

The Academy of Iberian Philosophy offers a wide range of graduate courses in various and rare traditions of philosophy, including political philosophy, Eastern philosophy, pre-Christian Iberian mysticism, American hagiography, humanism, metaphysics, moral philosophy, epistemology, hermeneutics and exegesis. One of our goals is to create cross-disciplinary programs that will contribute to developing active and intellectually highly potent leaders, scholars and academics. For this purpose, we boast of several distinguished and award-winning affiliated faculty members from the schools of Justice, Education, Psychology, Economics and International Politics of Georgian International University.

Graduates of the Academy of Iberian Philosophy are people of exceptional ability who are able to think and act strategically. Precisely due to our faculty’s diligent approach, our M.S. and doctoral graduates have obtained leadership positions in government offices and large corporations, as well as most premier universities in the United States and Europe. We strive to develop potent and active scholars who, along with thinking, teaching and theorizing in an academic environment, are also capable of doing, achieving and leading in real life.
